Such High Hopes.

I am disappointed that Kate Middleton's dress is McQueen (designed by Sarah Burton). Not because the McQueen name isn't well respected, have a highly talented team of designers, and it is a nice homage (whether purposeful or not) to Alexander McQueen himself, but I am really not an Alexander McQueen fan. Do not ask me why either, it is the same with Vivienne Westwood, I just can't click with the vast majority of the designs coming from both labels. I was hoping that Kate Middleton may have wanted to step out of the box a little, and used a young, up and coming British Designer.

Overall, I am extremely happy she chose a British Designer, and happy that there is an air of Grace Kelly about her whole look, but I still wish she would have used a designer that was not yet in the spotlight.

That fact of the matter is, she's drop dead gorgeous and could've turned up in a dress designed by me (disaster as I would've probably designed her some androgynous beauty in black!) and would've still had the world looking in awe.
